TS Galaxy earned an impressive 3-1 away victory over Orbit College on Friday night, August 30, at Olen Park. The Rockets showed composure, teamwork, and clinical finishing to extend their winning run.
The match began in dramatic fashion. Barely a minute in, Galaxy struck first. Seluleko Mahlambi found space in the box and calmly finished into the bottom left corner. Sphesihle Maduna provided the clever assist.
Orbit responded quickly with attacking intent. Olaoleng Mokgosi and Ikaneng Ramosala tested Galaxy’s defence with dangerous crosses. Ira Tapé was sharp, denying Matsemela with a fine save in the 11th minute.
Galaxy nearly doubled the lead after 13 minutes. Mpho Mvelase’s close-range shot was saved by Sekhoane Moerane after good work by Mlungisi Mbunjana. Moments later, Mahlambi won a penalty following a foul in the box. Puso Dithejane stepped up, but his effort was saved by Moerane, keeping Orbit alive.
The first half saw end-to-end action. Siyabulela Mabele went close for Orbit, while Galaxy missed chances through Mgaga and Mbunjana. At halftime, the Rockets led 1-0 but knew the game was still finely balanced.
Second Half
The second half began with Galaxy determined to extend their lead. In the 63rd minute, Maduna delivered a moment of brilliance. He cut inside from the left and unleashed a curling shot into the top corner. The Rockets were 2-0 up and in control.
Orbit tried to fight back, hitting the crossbar through Mabele and creating dangerous openings. But Galaxy punished them again on the counter. In the 67th minute, Dithejane burst forward and squared for Mvelase, who calmly slotted home for 3-0.
Substitutions followed, with Junior Zindoga, Onke Moletshe and Ntandoyenkosi Ngubane entering to freshen Galaxy’s legs. Orbit also rang the changes, introducing Lukhele and Modimoeng to chase the game.
Orbit eventually pulled one back in the 85th minute. Lukhele tapped in from close range after good work from Modimoeng. The hosts pressed for more, but Galaxy’s defence held firm, even after Lentswe Motaung was sent off for a second yellow card in the closing stages.
The final whistle confirmed a 3-1 victory. Mahlambi, Maduna, and Mvelase provided the goals, while Tapé and the backline stood strong under pressure.
Coach Sead Ramović will be pleased with his side’s efficiency and resilience. The Rockets once again showed their ability to blend attacking flair with defensive organisation.
With this result, Galaxy continue their strong run of form and build momentum ahead of their next challenge. The Rockets are rising fast, and confidence within the squad is higher than ever.
