Sivukile Sport: TS Galaxy Youth Trials

Tim Sukazi Lauds Overwhelming Response to TS Galaxy Youth Trials

TS Galaxy Chairman Tim Sukazi has expressed his astonishment and pride following the massive turnout at the club’s recent youth development trials, which attracted more than 2,000 aspiring footballers on 6 January 2026.

Speaking during a radio interview on Ikwekwezi FM, Sukazi reflected on the scale and significance of the trials, which catered to players from Under-13 level all the way to senior professional prospects. The overwhelming response, he noted, is a clear indication of both the passion for football in the region and the hunger among young players to access structured development pathways.
“The turnout was incredible,” Sukazi said. “We were honestly taken aback by the numbers, but it also confirms that there is a deep pool of talent out there that simply needs opportunity and proper guidance.”

Immediate Standout Talent Identified

Sukazi revealed that among the thousands of participants, several players stood out to such an extent that they required no further assessment. Drawing from his years of experience in football development and talent identification, he explained that he had already placed asterisks next to the names of certain individuals he believes are capable of performing at a professional level immediately.
“I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I usually get it right,” he added. “There are players we saw who clearly have what it takes. The quality is there.”

Youth Development at the Core

The interview reinforced TS Galaxy’s long-standing commitment to youth development as a cornerstone of the club’s philosophy. Sukazi emphasised that the trials are not merely scouting exercises, but part of a broader vision to build sustainable football careers and strengthen South African football from the grassroots up.

Addressing Fan Interest and FOMO

During the broadcast, several listeners enquired about the possibility of attending the trials as spectators. Sukazi clarified that due to the sheer volume of participants, accommodating spectators was not feasible.
However, he was quick to reassure supporters that the club is aware of the growing excitement around youth football and TS Galaxy’s development structures.
“We understand the interest and the excitement,” he said. “That’s why we are planning to host an event at our home ground stadium that will allow supporters and the broader community to be part of what we are building.”
Details regarding this upcoming event will be communicated through official TS Galaxy platforms in due course.

A Promising Future

The success of the January trials marks another important milestone in TS Galaxy’s mission to uncover, nurture, and elevate football talent. With thousands of young players stepping forward and clear standouts already identified, the future of the Rockets’ development pipeline looks brighter than ever.
