TS Galaxy 2–0 Stellenbosch FC
Mbombela Stadium | Sunday, 2 November 2025 | Kick-off: 15:30 | Betway Premiership
TS Galaxy continued their impressive run of form with a dominant 2–0 victory over Stellenbosch FC in a lively Betway Premiership clash at the Mbombela Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The Rockets combined tactical discipline, creative play, and defensive composure to claim all three points in front of their home supporters.
From the first whistle, Galaxy looked hungry and organized. Just two minutes in, Patrick Fisher found space on the right and set up Puso Dithejane, whose curling effort narrowly missed the post — a sign of what was to come.
Moments later, the breakthrough arrived. In the 7th minute, Dithejane once again showed his vision and precision, delivering a pinpoint cross into the box that found Seluleko Mahlambi, who rose superbly to head home into the bottom right corner. The goal ignited the Mbombela crowd as Galaxy took a deserved 1–0 lead.
Stellenbosch attempted to respond, pushing forward through the pace of Devin Titus and Lehlogonolo Mojela, but they were met by a resolute Galaxy defense marshaled by Khulumani Ndamane and Patrick Fisher. Goalkeeper Ira Tapé stood firm between the sticks, producing several crucial saves — notably denying Titus in the 21st minute and later stopping Mojela’s dangerous effort from close range.
Despite a flurry of corners for the visitors near the end of the first half, Galaxy remained composed and entered the break with their 1–0 advantage intact.
The second half began with Stellenbosch introducing fresh legs in Lesiba Nku and Khomotjo Lekoloane, but it was Galaxy who remained in control. Their quick transitions and pressing frustrated the visitors and kept the momentum on their side.
In the 62nd minute, Galaxy’s pressure forced a mistake that doubled their lead. After Mahlambi’s strike thundered off the crossbar from Dithejane’s cross, Stellenbosch’s Sanele Barns inadvertently turned the rebound into his own net to make it 2–0 to the Rockets.
Coach Sead Ramović’s men continued to show intent even after extending the lead. Khulumani Ndamane and Mpho Mvelase linked up brilliantly in midfield, while Junior Zindoga and Maduna stretched Stellenbosch’s defense with clever movement and pace. Substitute Igor Salatiel Silva also made his presence felt after replacing the industrious MacBeth Mahlangu.
Stellenbosch pushed late on, but Ira Tapé remained unbeatable — pulling off vital saves against Lekoloane and Langelihle Phili. Galaxy’s backline absorbed the pressure confidently, ensuring Tapé recorded another clean sheet.
In the final minutes, Ramović introduced fresh legs in Mory Keita, Mehdi Ouamri, and Mlungisi Mbunjana to close out the match. The Rockets controlled possession, frustrated the visitors, and saw out the game with composure and professionalism.
When the referee blew the final whistle, the Mbombela Stadium erupted — a testament to the team’s discipline, tactical execution, and relentless work rate. With Mahlambi’s early strike and a forced own goal sealing the result, Galaxy not only claimed three valuable points but also reaffirmed their growing reputation as one of the league’s most organized and entertaining sides.
