Match Report: Magesi FC 2–1 TS Galaxy
Seshego Stadium | Friday, 18 October 2025 | Kick-off: 17:30 | Betway Premiership
TS Galaxy displayed tremendous spirit and resilience in their Betway Premiership clash against Magesi FC at the Seshego Stadium on Friday evening. Despite controlling long periods of the match and creating multiple chances, the Rockets fell 2–1 in a tightly contested encounter decided in the final stages.
The first half was a lively affair, with both teams starting with attacking intent. Galaxy showed their game plan early — pressing high and moving the ball swiftly through the wide areas. Seluleko Mahlambi and Sphesihle Maduna combined beautifully on the right, testing Magesi’s defense with quick interchanges and dangerous crosses.
In the 26th minute, the Rockets almost took the lead when Veluyeke Zulu’s header was brilliantly saved by Elvis Chipezeze. Moments later, Junior Zindoga forced another sharp stop from the Magesi goalkeeper, as Galaxy continued to pile on the pressure.
The best chance of the half came in the 28th minute when Mahlambi’s close-range effort narrowly cleared the crossbar after fine build-up play involving Ndamane and Dithejane. Despite their dominance, the sides went into halftime level at 0–0, with Ira Tapé making key saves to deny Magesi’s Thabang Sibanyoni and Abbey Seseane.
Galaxy’s persistence finally paid off in the 65th minute. From a well-worked set piece, Mahlambi delivered a precise ball into the box, and Zulu made no mistake — slotting home with his left foot to give the Rockets a deserved 1–0 lead. The traveling Galaxy fans erupted as their side broke the deadlock in style.
However, Magesi responded soon after. A corner in the 71st minute led to Lehlogonolo Mokone heading in the equalizer from close range. The hosts built on that momentum, and in the 81st minute, Thabang Sibanyoni converted from the centre of the box to make it 2–1.
Coach Sead Ramović reacted quickly, making several attacking substitutions to chase the game. Mory Keita, Mehdi Ouamri, and Patrick Fisher were introduced to inject pace and fresh legs in the final minutes. The changes gave Galaxy a renewed edge as they pressed forward with determination.
In the dying moments, the Rockets came close to drawing level. Maduna’s curling free kick found Ndamane, whose header forced Chipezeze into a reflex save. Keita also came close with a late effort, but luck was not on Galaxy’s side this time.
Despite the result, the performance once again highlighted the team’s fighting spirit and attacking potential. The Rockets created numerous chances, worked tirelessly across the pitch, and continued to show their identity as a disciplined, confident, and united unit under Coach Ramović.
With lessons learned and positives to take forward, TS Galaxy will return to training with renewed focus as they look ahead to their next Betway Premiership challenge — determined to turn good performances into maximum points.
